    The Leland Chapter has 20 active members. We typically send out 57 mails with 20 postal notices for those that are still not on email. We have expanded our email list to include a list of local car clubs, media, museums and car hobbyists representing more than 100 additional emails.

    The Leland Chapter members still remain the most involved and eclectic group preserving automotive history in terms of research, creative projects, authors, historians, designers, hobbyists, automotive artists and media.

    New Member 2014

    In 2014 we have a new couple, Dave & Bev Zappa (an eclectic car collector/car club member/and history enthusiast, as a result of those extra emails.

    We will continue this strategy and are hopeful for others during 2015.

    New member to National SAH

    We encouraged and were successful in obtaining a new member for the National SAH: Bob McClurg / New member #4064 / Author / living in Hilo, Hawaii.

    2014 Holiday Event

    Our last event of the year was Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the  Larry Smith Automotive Collection (owner of Autometric Collision).  A Pasta and Salad Buffet Luncheon, Gourmet Cupcakes, Beverages, The Johnny Trudell Quintet Entertainment, and Prizes. More than 145 members, friends and automotive enthusiasts attended. A great way to end the year.





    The Henry M Leland Chapter is now a member of the Historical Society of Michigan (HSM). Many of our local members of SAH have been key note speakers at many events for the HSM. We are listed in their on-line directory with a link to www.autohistory.org.


    Plans for a membership drive for first meeting/gathering in Spring 2015. A date in April is being considered with place TBD.
